SET and MAI Markets to Record Highest Dividend Payout in History for 2025

Bangkok: Companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) are projected to pay out over 650 billion baht in dividends in 2025, marking the highest payout on record and reflecting a 9.71% increase from the previous year. The three sectors leading this historic payout are energy and utilities, banking, and information and communication technology.

According to Thai News Agency, SET's Note No. 1/2025 indicates that in 2025, 581 companies are expected to distribute dividends 838 times, reaching a total value of over 651,239 million baht. This marks a significant increase compared to 2024. Notably, most companies will disburse dividends once, with 226 companies issuing payments two or more times.

The number of companies paying dividends has decreased compared to 2024, yet the total dividend value is expected to rise by 9.71%. This growth is driven by the financial sector, which achieved a new record for dividend payments due to increased net profits. Over the decade from 2015 to 2025, the average annual increase in dividend payments has been 4.57%.

For 2025, the Energy and Utilities sector, Banking sector, and Information and Communication Technology sector are the top contributors to dividend payments, collectively exceeding 374,800 million baht, which constitutes 57.6% of the total dividend value. The Banking sector alone will pay over 143,609 million baht, followed by Information and Communication Technology companies at 81,694 million baht.

During the dividend season from March to May 2025, 533 payments were made, accounting for 63.6% of the year's total dividend disbursements. May experienced the highest number of payments, totaling 456. The dividends paid during this period amounted to 408,762 million baht, representing 62.8% of the total dividend value for the year.

The dividend payout statistics offer investors preliminary insights into payout timings, assisting in planning for dividend stock selection and investment timing. However, investors are reminded that investing involves risks, and historical performance is not indicative of future results, necessitating a thorough assessment of profitability and other influencing factors for listed companies.
