Tokyo: The Thai Embassy in Japan has notified 191 eligible voters to pick up their election documents due to unclear addresses. The embassy is urging these individuals to collect their election and referendum materials before January 30 to ensure their participation in the upcoming voting process.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo has identified 191 Thai citizens who are eligible to vote in the referendum but have not received their materials due to address discrepancies. The embassy was unable to deliver documents to 20 individuals, while the remaining 171 documents were returned undelivered.
The embassy had sent election and referendum ballots to voters, but issues arose from incomplete addresses, incorrect addresses, or addresses that did not match the individuals' actual residences. This resulted in the documents being returned as postal delivery was not feasible. The embassy has since corrected these errors and re-sent over 186 envelopes through express mail to ensure successful delivery.
Eligible voters whose names appear on the embassy's announcement page are requested to visit the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo to collect their ballots. Collections can be made between 09:00 - 11:30 and 13:30 - 17:00 until January 30, 2026. Voters are required to bring their national identification card for verification to complete the process smoothly.
