Sirikanya Optimistic About High Voter Turnout in Bangkok Election

Bangkok: Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, expressed optimism about the election turnout as she cast her vote at polling station 5, located at the Ashha Guest House tent in the Samsen Nai Subdistrict of Phaya Thai District. She noted that the voting process was orderly and showed promising signs.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sirikanya mentioned that conversations with polling station officials indicated that approximately 40% of the population had voted in the first half of the day. She expressed hope that voter turnout would surpass that of previous elections, urging those who had yet to vote to do so before the polls closed at 5:00 PM.

Ms. Sirikanya also confirmed that there were no issues during the parliamentary elections and referendum, as she had verified information in advance via the Election Commission's website. She highlighted that both processes were conducted at the same polling station using the same voter identification number, ensuring a convenient and quick voting experience.

Initial reports of irregularities at polling stations were limited to discrepancies in the posting of information notices, which officials have addressed and corrected.

Ms. Sirikanya shared her sense of relief after fulfilling her civic duty and awaited the election results. She observed increased public engagement in this election and hoped for a voter turnout exceeding 75%, viewing it as a satisfactory outcome.

The People's Party is encouraging citizens near polling stations to observe the vote counting process to help protect voting rights. The party plans to send observers to closely monitor the vote counting process to prevent any unintentional errors.
