Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the current Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was seen carrying a Buddha statue into the Thai Khu Fah building at Government House. As he made his way, he addressed the media with the words, "Amitabha Buddha. Good fortune, good luck, good luck!"
According to Thai News Agency, this event followed a ceremony led by Mr. Anutin to temporarily enshrine the Buddha's relics from Sri Lanka at the Santi Maitri Building. The ceremony was part of a larger initiative to honor these relics at Government House.
During the transition from the Santi Maitri Building to the Thai Khu Fah Building, Mr. Anutin personally carried the Buddha statue, a gesture that seemed to symbolize his wishes for prosperity and success. His repeated invocation of "Amitabha Buddha" and well-wishing remarks were directed at the reporters present, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
