Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul has emphasized the substantial economic and global recognition benefits that Thailand will gain from hosting the 2026 MotoGP event. The event is projected to generate over 5 billion baht in revenue, with tourists flocking to the Chang International Circuit.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul expressed that this year's MotoGP is set to break records due to the influx of participants and spectators from around the globe. He noted the rapid sale of tickets and the bustling presence of stalls featuring products from various motorcycle manufacturers. Anutin estimated that the 3-4 days of racing would generate substantial economic value, reaching at least 5 billion baht.

When discussing the government's plans to capitalize on this initiative, Anutin clarified that the event is a government-organized project through the Sports Authority of Thailand. He highlighted the minimal investment compared to the significant tourism and economic benefits, which have enhanced Thailand's global profile. The event's international broadcasts have attracted millions of viewers, creating economic opportunities for local vendors, hotels, restaurants, and transportation services. The MotoGP has not only boosted Buriram's economy but also impacted neighboring provinces as visitors explored nearby areas.

Addressing the reception from foreign attendees, Anutin mentioned that many foreigners considered themselves fortunate to attend the event. He acknowledged the cancellation of world-class events in Europe due to incidents in the Middle East and expressed gratitude that Thailand's event proceeded as planned. Anutin emphasized the importance of accommodating tourists and foreign visitors, including motorcycle manufacturers, racers, and spectators. The high demand for flights and fully booked hotels in the event area underscored the event's impact on local infrastructure.
