Jerusalem: Israel launched a new wave of attacks on targets in Iran today, amid continued uncertainty in the country following the death of its Supreme Leader in a joint Israeli-U.S. strike. Meanwhile, Iran ignored warnings of retaliatory attacks against Israel and U.S. allies in the Middle East for a second day.
According to Thai News Agency, the Israeli military stated that this morning's attacks on Iran targeted military and strategic objectives in central Tehran, as well as guided missile systems and air defense systems across more than 30 locations in western and central Iran. The aim was to cripple any retaliatory measures and undermine the power structure of the Iranian government, which is in disarray following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. However, there were no reports of damage or casualties from these new attacks today.
Air raid sirens were reportedly sounded across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, since early this morning as Iran retaliated with continuous missile fire over the past 24 hours. However, no damage has been reported so far. Additionally, explosions from Iranian attacks have been reported in several Middle Eastern countries, including Dubai in the UAE and Doha, Qatar, for the second day today. Smoke was also seen from the interception of at least four missiles over Dubai and the port of Jebel Ali, one of the busiest ports in the Middle East. Yesterday's Iranian attacks in several Middle Eastern countries resulted in two deaths and over 20 injuries.
