Online Vendor’s Death Sparks Manhunt and Arrest in Chiang Mai

Bang bua thong: An online vendor was found dead in her condo after being suffocated by a pillow, while her boyfriend disappeared. Police are urgently searching for him and have issued an arrest warrant. He has since been apprehended in Chiang Mai province. Investigators from Bang Bua Thong Police Station are en route to take custody of him.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at an 8-story condominium in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi Province. Police found the deceased, identified as Ms. Panitsuda, also known as Dream, 25, on the 4th floor. She was discovered face down beside her bed, wearing only underwear, with two pillows covering her head. The room was in disarray, with household items scattered, and a diary was found containing entries from her boyfriend, Mr. Nitirran, 33. The diary indicated that someone was trying to harm her and asked him to watch over her cats and belongings.

The investigation revealed that the deceased had been living with her boyfriend as husband and wife for over five years. Her family was unable to contact her after she vanished. Her parents stated that their son suffered from a mental illness, exhibiting paranoia and fearing for his life, while the deceased struggled with depression. The couple had been known to engage in severe arguments, sometimes escalating to physical violence.

CCTV footage from the condo showed that Mr. Nitirran, the suspect, left the condo on April 30th at approximately 4:32 PM, driving away in a red sedan. He had been unreachable since that time.

Ms. Mukhda, 59, the mother of the deceased, arrived at the scene and shared a picture of her daughter with reporters. She mentioned that she last saw her daughter last year, and they had only visited once after her return to Bangkok. Her daughter did not share any concerns with her during that visit.

Mr. Lek, 52, the father of the deceased's boyfriend, stated that he had been unable to contact his son. He explained that his son and the deceased frequently argued, and his son had a mental illness requiring regular medical attention, though he refused to take his medication. The father noted that conflicts arose because his son would not allow the deceased to carry her phone when dining out. He also mentioned a previous minor physical altercation between them.

The superintendent of Bang Bua Thong Police Station confirmed that the deceased's boyfriend had been missing since April 30th at approximately 4:30 PM. It is believed that the deceased likely died around that time. Both had arrived at the condo on the afternoon of April 29th, and the suspect left alone the next day. His parents have been unable to contact him since, making them primary suspects. However, the information regarding the man's mental health has not been confirmed by a doctor.

Initially, forensic doctors will examine the cause of death. Investigators will gather evidence and request a court warrant for the arrest of the perpetrator for prosecution according to the law.

Nitirarn was recently arrested at a hotel room in Chiang Mai province. He had fled following the murder, initially driving his red car with Bangkok license plates to Suphan Buri before abandoning it and traveling to Chiang Mai by bus. Bang Bua Thong police investigators are currently en route to Chiang Mai to take custody of him.
