Chatchart Prepares to Contest for a Second Term as Bangkok Governor

Bangkok: Chatchart, in his bid for a second term as Bangkok governor, stated that a landslide victory is unlikely due to the strong support base of the People's Party, and that he will rely on his achievements over the past four years.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, addressed his decision to run for a second term as Bangkok Governor, highlighting the likelihood of success while asking for patience until the official announcement. He mentioned that the announcement would be made after his current term ends. Despite some parties' announcements being considered late, he remains unaffected, focusing on his current duties and salary.

Mr. Chatchart dismissed the possibility of a landslide victory, acknowledging the strength of the People's Party following recent election results. He emphasized that if he runs again, it would be a challenging battle requiring his full effort, as the People's Party holds a strong support base in Bangkok.

In response to the People's Party's "Easy Bangkok" campaign, Mr. Chatchart stated that his track record over the past four years will speak for itself. He noted that the election is not a competition against others but about providing the best outcome for the people of Bangkok.

Addressing his stance on supporting Bangkok City Council members, Mr. Chatchart clarified that he is not currently supporting any particular group. He expressed his belief in the capabilities of many council members and emphasized the importance of working with multiple parties to allow people to choose again in future elections.
