Bangkok: The Ministry of Commerce is set to launch an initiative to distribute fuel coupons to mobile vendors, aiming to facilitate the distribution of goods to communities while managing raw material sources to counteract the rising prices of ready-to-eat meals.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supajee Suthamphan announced that a segment of the 400 billion baht emergency loan will be allocated to the "Thai Help Thai Plus" project. The initiative is designed to assist citizens in acquiring consumer goods at more affordable prices, thus alleviating living costs. The project plans to deploy these goods across the country through a network of over 300 retailers. With initial Cabinet-approved funding, the "Thai Help Thai Plus" project is expanding to include products from SMEs and local communities. In collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, efforts are underway to set up sales points across various districts. Additionally, Thailand Post is playing a crucial role in distributing products to these locations and enhancing online sales platforms.
Furthermore, the Department of Provincial Administration is taking steps to ensure the delivery of goods to remote areas by enlisting mobile vendors, with tens of thousands already on board. Support measures such as distribution points and fuel cards, tailored to vehicle size, will be provided. The department is determined to guarantee the availability of consumer goods to the public. In response to the escalating costs of prepared food, the Ministry of Commerce intends to regulate the supply of key raw materials including rice, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, and cooking oil, urging retailers to procure goods directly from the source.
