The Director-General of the Department of Forestry emphasized that the agency unequivocally opposes corruption and will take decisive disciplinary and legal measures against any official found guilty of such acts. This declaration follows a recent private sector survey examining transparency within government operations.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nikorn Sirirojananont, Director-General of the Royal Forest Department, addressed concerns arising from a survey conducted by the Zero Corruption Working Group. The survey, released on May 14, 2026, ranked the Royal Forest Department 10th out of 10 government agencies, with an average bribe value reported at 67,500 baht per incident. Mr. Sirirojananont firmly stated that corruption, whether direct or indirect, is not tolerated within the department.
The Director-General highlighted the department's commitment to good governance principles, ensuring transparency, integrity, and service for the public and national interest. The department prioritizes fair and lawful administration while promoting ethical conduct among its staff across all levels.
Mr. Nikorn further assured that any detected cases of corruption or bribery would lead to strict disciplinary actions and legal proceedings. He called for cooperation from officials, personnel, and the public in reporting corruption to foster confidence in a transparent government.
