Crystal Meth Ringleader Arrested in Chumphon Palm Plantation

Chumphon: "Bang Don," the ringleader and driver of a lead vehicle for a crystal meth smuggling gang, was arrested in a palm plantation in Tha Sae. Chumphon police expanded their investigation into the Joker gang smuggling over half a ton of crystal meth, arresting Sarit, known as "Bang Don," who drove the lead vehicle, at a palm plantation in Tha Sae district, Chumphon. He confessed that he sensed danger when his friends went silent in the group chat, quickly swerving and fleeing for over 30 kilometers before calling a tow truck to remove his vehicle for concealment.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest of "Bang Don" follows the earlier detention of a married couple at the Pathomporn checkpoint in the early morning of May 13th. The police also seized two other vehicles used in the smuggling operation. The suspects deployed four identical enclosed pickup trucks to navigate and evade checkpoints effectively.

The suspects admitted they realized they were being targeted when communication in their group chat ceased. In response, they quickly swerved and fled for over 30 kilometers before resorting to calling a tow truck to remove their vehicles, attempting to use the service for cover.
