Royal Thai Army Mobilizes After Train-Bus Collision Near Makkasan

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has mobilized forces to aid in the aftermath of a train-bus collision near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station on Asoke-Din Daeng Road. The collision resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities, and a severe fire that engulfed the bus. The army's involvement includes evacuating the injured, supporting rescue operations, managing traffic, and securing the accident site.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Army deployed personnel from the 12th Signal Battalion, 2nd Cavalry Division, Royal Guard, and the 11th Military Police Battalion, along with volunteer army personnel. These forces are coordinating with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Phaya Thai Fire and Rescue Station, Ruam Katanyu Foundation, Poh Teck Tung Foundation, and local police. Their efforts are focused on managing traffic, establishing temporary parking areas, providing assistance to the public, and supporting medical personnel to provide comprehensive assistance to those affected. The fire has been extinguished, while officials continue to move the injured and the bodies of the deceased. Police and relevant agencies have cordoned off the area for safety, investigating the cause of the incident, identifying the deceased, and gathering evidence for legal proceedings.

This integrated deployment of forces to assist the public aligns with the orders of the Army Commander, who instructed military units in the area to respond immediately to the incident. The command aims to provide urgent support to ensure safety and alleviate the suffering of the people in a timely manner.
