According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Flying Group, led by its president, Mongkolkitt Suksintharanon, along with advisor Phasapong Chaiwirinwanich and the prospective candidate for Deputy Governor of Bangkok in charge of education, visited the site of the train-bus collision at 3:00 PM. The tragic accident in Makkasan resulted in a fire and eight fatalities. The group's mission was to survey the site, determine the cause of the accident, and identify preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
The team conducted a thorough inspection of the railway crossing, traffic conditions, warning systems, construction zones, and surrounding areas to pinpoint risk factors contributing to the incident. They plan to propose enhancements to safety measures, focusing on warning systems, route organization, and stricter controls on buses in high-risk zones.
Furthermore, the Bangkok Flying Group performed a water pouring ritual and paid respects at the accident site, following reports of additional body parts being found. This act was intended to dedicate merit to the deceased and offer solace to the victims' families. The atmosphere remained somber as mourners continued to visit, laying flowers and expressing condolences.
