Akranan Pledges Justice in Kanchanaburi Waitress Assault Case

Kanchanaburi: Akranan Kankittinant, Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi Province from the Pheu Thai Party, has taken decisive action by visiting Kanchanaburi to address the serious allegations of sexual assault against a waitress at a local barbecue restaurant. His visit underscores his commitment to ensure that justice prevails and that those responsible will face both disciplinary and criminal consequences.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akranan met with officials at the Lat Ya Police Station in Mueang District to gather insights on the case, which involves allegations against a police officer. He expressed concerns about the impact of the incident on public trust and received assurances from the police superintendent and investigators that the investigation will be conducted impartially, without interference or intimidation of the victims.

Mr. Akranan stated, "As a representative for the area, I assure the victims that they will receive justice. The perpetrators will be punished both disciplinarily and criminally. No one is above the law." He highlighted the necessity for the case to be judged on factual evidence, stressing that any wrongdoing must be punished, while ensuring the rights of citizens are preserved.

Addressing the accused's denial of the charges, Mr. Akranan emphasized the importance of thorough evidence collection by the police, including reviewing footage from multiple CCTV cameras. He warned that if the accused are found guilty and continue to deny their actions, strict measures will be enforced without leniency.
