Mysterious Man Attempts to Remove Bolts from Landmark Suspension Bridge

Ang thong: A mysterious man was recently seen attempting to remove nuts and bolts that secure the cables of a landmark suspension bridge, raising concerns about the safety of the structure. The man, described as approximately 50 years old and wearing a red shirt and shorts, was spotted carrying a large bag as he made his way onto the bridge over Khlong Tha Daeng.

According to Thai News Agency, the unidentified individual tried to detach large, heavy bolts that secure the bridge's cables, but was unsuccessful due to the bolts being welded in place. Despite his failure, he continued to inspect other parts of the bridge, including the stainless steel railings and structural bolts. The man quickly fled the scene upon realizing he was being filmed, leaving behind a motorcycle that resembled those used for collecting scrap metal.

This incident follows a previous theft earlier this year, when numerous bolts securing the bridge's cables were stolen. In response, authorities had welded the bolts back and installed two CCTV cameras in an attempt to prevent further tampering.

In addition to the bolts, over 70 solar-powered lighting batteries installed along the pathway of the landmark have also gone missing. Despite these ongoing issues, no individuals have been apprehended in connection with the thefts.
