Pattaya: Pattaya is opening the election campaign as the Election Commission is actively monitoring the registration process for the mayoral election.
According to Thai News Agency, the Secretary-General of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has visited the area to oversee the registration process for the Pattaya City Mayor and City Council members. The emphasis is on ensuring that the process is conducted honestly, transparently, and fairly.
At 8:30 AM on May 28, 2026, Mr. Saweang Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, observed the candidate registration process at the Thap Phraya 401 Meeting Room, Pattaya City Hall, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Ms. Masanont Witana, Director of the Chonburi Provincial Election Commission, and Mr. Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Director of the Pattaya City Election Commission, provided updates on the preparedness for election registration. They reported that the venue, registration system, and security measures were all set to facilitate a smooth process, ensuring an efficient, transparent, and fair election in line with democratic principles.
Candidate applications for the Mayor of Pattaya and City Council members are being accepted from May 28 to June 1, 2026, between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM at Meeting Room 401, Thap Phraya, Pattaya City Hall. The Election Commission has scheduled the election for Sunday, June 28, 2026, and is encouraging the public to stay informed, verify candidate qualifications and policies, and participate in the voting process responsibly.
