NACC Director Involved in Fatal Accident Faces Police Interrogation

Nonthaburi: The director of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Mr. Jarong Mohkrao, recently met with police under secretive circumstances following a fatal accident involving a delivery rider. The incident, which resulted in the death of Mr. Sornarin Nakongsi, occurred when Mr. Jarong drove his pickup truck into the rider at the Bang Rak Noi interchange in Nonthaburi Province. Initial reports indicate that Mr. Jarong had a blood alcohol level of 189 milligrams per cent at the time of the accident. He was subsequently taken to Bang Sri Mueang Police Station before being released on bail.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jarong arrived at the police station today in a black Nissan Kena with tinted windows, using a back entrance to avoid media attention. He is currently undergoing interrogation, with several high-ranking police officials present, including Pol. Maj. Gen. Atthapol Anusit and Pol. Maj. Gen. Dechraphee Kongdee.

The authorities are also preparing to press charges against Mr. Thamrong Phromset, who attempted to impersonate Mr. Jarong as the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. Mr. Thamrong appeared on the scene following the incident and claimed he was driving the truck. A subsequent breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol level at 115 milligrams per cent. The investigation revealed that both men had been drinking together before parting ways, after which the fatal collision occurred.
