Bangkok: The Center for Moral Development, in collaboration with media network partners, has initiated a training course aimed at developing a network of "Ethical Media for a Creative Thai Society." According to Thai News Agency, the opening ceremony for the 2026 Capacity Building Training Course for Network Leaders took place at the TK Palace and Convention Hotel in Bangkok. The course aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of media professionals from various regions to promote morality through creative and responsible public communication. Associate Professor Dr. Suriyadev Tripathi, Director of the Center for Moral Development, emphasized the significant role of mass media in fostering positive social change, especially in the rapidly evolving digital age. He expressed hope that the participants of the training would contribute to advancing Thai society by producing and disseminating media that highlights morality and ethical values on a large scale. Mr. Chakkrit Poomphool, a member of the Thai PBS Policy Board and Chairman of the Committee for Promoting and Driving Ethics (Media Network), welcomed the participants and underscored the media's pivotal role in addressing challenges such as fake news and ethical issues in public communication. He expressed confidence that the training would serve as a platform for learning and collaboration among media professionals committed to creating a better Thai society. Mr. Pramual Boonma, Head of the Assembly and International Cooperation Group at the Center for Moral Development, highlighted the collaborative nature of the training. He noted that it aims to strengthen mechanisms for ethical communication and develop media leaders capable of promoting constructive communication effectively. The five-week course, spanning May to June 2026, covers essential topics such as the role of media in the digital age, ethics for media in the AI era, and the development of policy proposals on ethical media. It brings together 45 participants, including media executives, jour nalists, producers, corporate communicators, and educators from across Thailand. The objective is to establish a robust ethical media network to collaboratively produce and disseminate constructive content, thereby promoting ethical values and building social resilience in the digital age. This initiative represents a significant step towards fostering cooperation among media networks nationwide. By producing and spreading constructive media content, the program aims to raise awareness and instill moral values in Thai society, contributing to the sustainable development of a moral society.
