State Welfare Card Holders Required to Confirm Eligibility by June 21

Bangkok: Only current holders of the "State Welfare Card" are required to confirm their eligibility between June 4th and 21st. This announcement comes as part of the initiative to update the eligibility database for the 2026 State Welfare Card registration project.

According to Thai News Agency, the project's aim is to ensure that assistance is directed to those who are genuinely in need. Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized the need for existing welfare card holders to confirm their eligibility within the specified period. The results of this verification process will be announced on July 17th, 2026.

In conjunction with this, various government bodies, including the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Pattaya City, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, are conducting surveys to identify individuals who were previously missed by the program. Efforts are underway to extend support to low-income individuals, ensuring they receive the care they are entitled to.

Eligibility confirmation can be done through several channels, including the Paotang application, government websites, Krung Thai Bank ATMs, and registration centers at designated banks. The criteria for eligibility include being a Thai national, aged 18 or above, and meeting certain financial and property-related conditions. Individuals engaged in certain professions, holding political positions, or possessing specific financial assets are excluded from eligibility.

The project highlights the importance of accurately updating welfare data to provide efficient support to those in need. Government agencies are committed to refining the process to ensure fair distribution of welfare resources.
