Bangkok: Thais spend an average of 46.7 minutes per running session, placing them 5th in the Asia-Pacific region for average running time, according to Garmin's world running statistics. The report shows that Thai runners cover an average distance of 7.2 kilometers per session, with half-marathon training programs being the most favored.

According to Thai News Agency, Garmin, a global provider of GPS smartwatches, has released its 'Global Running and Cycling Data' report, which highlights a worldwide trend towards increased health and fitness activities, specifically running and cycling. Data from Garmin ConnectS indicates a nearly 13% rise in indoor running and a 3% increase in outdoor running globally over the past year. Additionally, there is a 23% increase in users combining running with strength training within the same week, showcasing a growing preference for a holistic approach to health and wellness.

In Thailand, running remains a popular activity, with Garmin users in the country averaging 46.7 minutes per run. This places them 5th in the Asia-Pacific region and 29th globally, with an average running distance of 7.2 kilometers per session. Thailand is among the top 5 countries in the region for average running time, alongside China, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines, indicating a strong participation in running activities among Thai consumers.

The half-marathon training plan is the most popular among Garmin Coach users worldwide, underscoring the importance of goal-setting and systematic training in improving athletic potential.

Cycling also remains a favored activity among health enthusiasts globally. Garmin's data shows that cyclists worldwide spend an average of 115 minutes per ride. In Thailand, cyclists average 109.8 minutes per ride, closely aligning with the global average.

Thai cyclists rank 2nd globally for average cycling speed at 16.81 miles per hour and 9th for average cycling distance per session, at approximately 49.6 kilometers. For indoor cycling, the average session lasts 65.3 minutes, ranking 26th globally. In outdoor cycling, Thai cyclists rank 32nd with an average session time of 113.1 minutes. This data underscores the sustained interest of Garmin users in Thailand in both indoor and outdoor cycling, reinforcing the activity's popularity among those pursuing an active lifestyle.
