Hanoi: Ratchada refutes Cambodian media reports, insisting that Anutin and Hun Manet did not hold a meeting, but merely exchanged polite greetings.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, addressed claims made by the Cambodian media outlet "Fresh News" through a Facebook post. The reports suggested that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet had an informal meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul prior to the opening ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ms. Ratchada clarified that these reports were inaccurate and emphasized that there was no meeting between the two leaders.
She explained that Prime Minister Anutin was present at the ASEAN Future Forum in Vietnam, participating alongside leaders from several ASEAN countries. The interaction between Anutin and Hun Manet was limited to an exchange of polite greetings before the commencement of the event. Ms. Ratchada stressed that there was no formal meeting or agenda between the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia. The conversation was brief and occurred while waiting for the opening ceremony and speeches to begin.
