Sai Mai District Extends Flood Relief Application Deadline to November 30

Bangkok:The deadline for submitting flood relief claims in the Sai Mai district has been extended until the end of November. Governor Chatchart Sittipunt announced the extension during a visit to the Sai Mai District Office, where he assessed the ongoing flood relief operations.

According to Thai News Agency, Governor Chatchart Sittipunt emphasized that residents of government housing are not eligible for compensation. The extension to November 30, 2026, aims to alleviate the rush for applications, allowing for a smoother process. The Sai Mai District Office has adjusted its system to accommodate 1,800 applications daily, split between 1,500 system entries and 300 walk-ins, and extended service hours until 600 PM to manage the flow.

In the Sai Mai district, 86,000 individuals have applied for compensation, with 53,000 applications approved so far. The process involves personnel from the Sai Mai and Ratchathewi District Offices, along with staff from nine Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) schools. They have been instrumental in managing the application and verification process, which includes 10 on-site screening staff and 81 computers provided by BMA schools to enhance efficiency.

Applicants who submitted forms on the 2nd or 3rd of the month but have not received approval are advised to check their status via LINE OA. Errors in the information provided can lead to disqualification if not corrected. The district office maintains a strict policy against selling queue numbers, ensuring fair access for all applicants.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has received approximately 1 million applications citywide, with nearly 400,000 approvals. Efforts are ongoing to restore normalcy in flood-affected areas, with significant flooding still present in Nong Chok and Lat Krabang districts. Additionally, over 25,000 tons of waste have been cleared with assistance from various agencies.

Governor Chatchart expressed gratitude to the officials and teachers for their support in expediting the application process and reassured citizens they need not rush their submissions, as officials are ready to provide full assistance during the extended application period.
