Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert concerning an upcoming summer storm expected to impact upper Thailand from 6-8 March 2025. This alert, labeled as Issue 1, forecasts thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in certain regions.
According to Thai News Agency, the announcement details how the North, Northeast, Central regions, including Bangkok and the East, will experience these weather conditions. Lightning is also possible in some areas. The weather disturbance is attributed to a high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass moving from China across the Northeast and the South China Sea, coinciding with extreme heat in upper Thailand.
Residents in the affected regions are advised to exercise caution, avoiding travel through storm-prone areas and remaining clear of open spaces, large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers are urged to fortify their fruit trees and prepare for potential damage to crops and livestock. Additionally, taking health precautions during this period of changing weather conditions is recommended.
