Digital Money Phase 3 Targeted for Young Adults, Payment Expected in Q2

Bangkok: "Pichai" has accepted the implementation of Digital Money Phase 3, which will be exclusively distributed to individuals aged 16-20, with payments anticipated in the second quarter. Phase 4 of the initiative is currently under consideration for future viability. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, discussed the outcomes of the 1st meeting of the Economic Stimulus Policy Committee for 2025. The committee plans to stimulate the economy by 3% through a short-term strategy, with structural adjustments planned for the future to address ongoing issues. Regarding the debated 10,000 baht digital wallet, Mr. Pichai clarified that it will not be a point of debate but a resolved matter to be presented at the meeting. The digital wallet is intended for the 16-20 year age group, with efforts to initiate payments in the second quarter. The possibility of a Phase 4 will be assessed as needed.
