According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, the People's Party's gubernatorial candidate, along with Mr. Anusorn Thammajai, MP for Thawi Watthana district, visited Thonburi Market to campaign for Mr. Natthanon Naklo, the Bangkok City Council candidate for Thawi Watthana district. Earlier that morning, they had visited the Suan Phak market area in Taling Chan district before arriving at Thonburi Market in Thawi Watthana district. This visit is part of a rotation to cover all 50 districts and engage with vendors and shoppers in Thonburi's commercial areas. When asked about potential improvements in Thonburi if elected Bangkok governo r, Mr. Chaiwat highlighted Thonburi's potential and the need for better public transportation and public spaces in the Thawi Watthana district. He emphasized the priority of creating shaded walkways using canals, aligning with his mega-project to reduce the city's temperature. Mr. Chaiwat noted that many markets reported a decline in vibrancy and expressed a desire for policies to stimulate the economy. He mentioned the introduction of a receipt lottery system for Bangkok, where people can accumulate points for every 20 baht spent at small retailers or markets. These points can be redeemed for prizes, with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) allocating 10 million baht monthly as prize money to boost community economies. Following the market visits, Mr. Chaiwat led the Bangkok City Council candidates on a campaign tour through Thonburi Market, distributing leaflets and introducing proposed policies. He urged the public to vote for the People's Party candidates.
