Government Savings Bank Launches “Savings Universe” for Children’s Day 2026

Bangkok: Government Savings Bank (GSB) created a "Savings Universe" event for Children's Day 2026, inspiring a love of saving money and environmental awareness. Over 3,000 children and parents participated enthusiastically.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lapawan Chankrajang, Deputy Director of the Government Savings Bank (GSB) and Acting Director of the Government Savings Bank, presided over the opening ceremony of National Children's Day 2026, under the theme "The Savings Universe." The event provided a learning space for children and youth to embark on an underwater adventure through creative activities that combined imagination, knowledge, and fun, aiming to instill saving discipline coupled with environmental awareness. Over 3,000 GSB executives, children, and parents participated enthusiastically at the GSB Head Office on January 10, 2026.

At the event, the Government Savings Bank (GSB) awarded scholarships to underprivileged children from Wat Phai Tan School and presented GSB lottery tickets worth a total of 1.2 million baht as New Year gifts to athletes who won medals at the 33rd SEA Games from 5 sports associations: gymnastics, jujitsu, netball, windsurfing, and archery. In addition, the bank distributed "Save Money, Save Sea Life" whale-shaped piggy banks to registered children and youth. These piggy banks, made from recycled coastal plastic waste and designed in the shape of a whale-a symbol of the abundance of the Thai sea-promote saving and environmental awareness. The production of these piggy banks helped reduce plastic waste by 18 tons, supporting marine ecosystem conservation. This aligns with the GSB's role as a social bank aiming for tangible social impact. The event was held in collaboration with partner organizations such as Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited, Dhipaya Life Insurance Public Company Limited, MFC Asset Managem ent Public Company Limited, Mee Tee Mee Ngern Company Limited, Ngern Dee Dee Company Limited, and the National Savings Fund, who provided creative and fun activities throughout the event.
