JB Financial Group Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net profit of 200.7 billion won (US$144.8 million), up 20.1 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 258.8 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 219.9 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 14.5 percent to 1.17 trillion won. The earnings beat market expectations.
