Bangkok: The lawyer for Police Colonel Joe explained that the results of the second round of autopsy have not yet been released. They are waiting for the results of blood tests and tissue samples, and will collect more detailed information. It is expected that it will take 2-3 weeks to be clear.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wirasak Nakin, the lawyer for Pol. Col. Joe, gave an interview after meeting with the forensic doctor at Chulalongkorn Hospital, revealing that at present, they must wait for the results from the doctor who took the blood and tissue samples for pathological and toxicological examination before the doctor will submit a report to the investigation officer at Prachachuen Police Station, which is expected to be out within approximately 2-3 weeks. Therefore, at present, they still do not know what the initial results of the forensic doctor at Chulalongkorn Hospital are. They must wait for the results in the form of a report from the forensic doctor.
The family came to meet the doctor today to discuss the initial results of the examination from the Ministry of Justice’s Institute of Forensic Medicine yesterday. The family did not forward any additional questions to the forensic doctor at Chulalongkorn Hospital.
After this, if the results from the Chulalongkorn Hospital’s forensic doctors are complete, then we will look again to see if there are any more questions. However, we will not send the body for a third autopsy anywhere else. After the funeral rites are complete, the body will be kept, which is in accordance with the family’s wishes.
This morning, there was a news report that forensic doctors scanned the body of Pol. Col. Joe. Initially, it was confirmed that this was not true at all. Similarly, there was a news report that forensic doctors at Chulalongkorn Hospital claimed that they believed that Pol. Col. Joe committed suicide. This is also not true because we have to wait for a detailed report first.
As for the case where the Corrections Department issued an additional statement last night regarding the death of Pol. Col. Joe, the lawyer said that the statement had not yet been read. However, the claim that Pol. Col. Joe had a mental illness was confirmed to be untrue. Relatives visited him every week and found that Pol. Col. Joe was normal. Every time he visited and talked to Pol. Col. Joe, he was conscious and only talked about the legal case. Pol. Col. Joe was still waiting for the appeal in court. There was no discussion about Pol. Col. Joe’s assets outside.
On the day that Pol. Col. Joe died, did anyone visit him? The lawyer said that only his girlfriend and a friend visited him, and that friend was a police officer. As for what they talked about, including whether there were any words that touched Pol. Col. Joe’s heart, he did not know.
In addition, from the issue that the Corrections Department issued a statement claiming that Police Colonel Joe had used the prison’s camera without permission, the matter must be discussed with the relatives, but I have never heard of such a story. However, I do not know whether this issue will lead to Police Colonel Joe being set up by a disciplinary committee and being transferred to Zone 5 or not. Similarly, the issue mentioned in the statement that Police Colonel Joe requested to end the investigation into the assault case, this matter must also be discussed with the relatives.
Also, regarding the towel issue, the Corrections Department recently revealed the size of the towel last night. I have not seen this either. At the same time, I was unable to go to the scene where Pol. Col. Joe died, so I did not see the actual size of the towel. I confirm that the family has not been ordered by the Corrections Department or any superiors not to speak or give news at this time. As for the prison’s order to transfer the guard who had a problem with Pol. Col. Joe, I just found out from the news and will not comment on whether the order was to reduce the social impact or not because I see it as following the official procedures.
As for the case where the sister of Police Colonel Joe wrote a letter requesting a transfer to act as the director of Klong Prem Central Prison, it was in accordance with the documents she received.
