Panpree Pahithanukorn Joins Sihasak Phuangketkaew’s Advisory Team

Bangkok: Panpree Pahithanukorn has rejoined the advisory team of Sihasak Phuangketkaew, who recently assumed the position of Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to Thai News Agency, the appointment follows the publication of the Royal Decree appointing the Anutin 2 Cabinet in the Royal Gazette on March 31st. Mr. Panpree will serve as the Chief Advisor to Mr. Sihasak, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The swearing-in ceremony for the new cabinet is scheduled for April 6th, with the policy statement set to be presented to Parliament on April 9th-10th.

Mr. Panpree and Mr. Sihasak have a history of collaboration, having previously worked together in the advisory team at the Phitsanulok residence of former Prime Minister General Chatchai Choonhavan. In the government of Mr. Settha Thavisin, Mr. Panpree served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with Mr. Sihasak appointed as his Assistant Minister. Their joint efforts led to a proactive foreign policy, notably enhancing Thailand's visibility on the international stage through humanitarian assistance to Myanmar and other diplomatic initiatives.

Mr. Panpree's new role as Chief Advisor is expected to bolster efforts in economic diplomacy, a priority area for Mr. Sihasak since his tenure began in the first Anutin government. Mr. Panpree's extensive experience in international economics is anticipated to significantly contribute to advancing Thailand's foreign policy objectives, including its pursuit of OECD membership and continued support for Thai citizens abroad.
