Pharadon Counters Natthapong’s Claims, Denies Existence of “Blue Regime”

Bangkok: Pharadon Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and a prominent member of the Bhumjaithai Party, has openly responded to recent statements by Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapong suggested that Bhumjaithai is an agent of a so-called "blue regime." Mr. Pharadon countered this assertion by emphasizing that Bhumjaithai, like all political parties, acts as an agent of the people who elected them, and there is no such thing as a "blue regime."

Mr. Pharadon clarified that he was unfamiliar with the term "blue regime," highlighting that the Bhumjaithai Party is simply known as the "Blue Party" due to its emblematic color. He mentioned that the Blue Party originated from the February 8, 2016 election, evolving from what was previously known as the Orange Party. Despite initially holding only 70 seats, which were insufficient to form a government, the party managed to establish a minority government with support from the Orange Party. This support facilitated Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul's appointment as Prime Minister, albeit for a brief period of less than four months. During this time, the party focused on implementing its policies, gaining the people's trust, which eventually led to the Blue Party's expansion to 192 seats.

Mr. Pharadon addressed the People's Party's rhetoric as an attempt to tarnish the government's reputation. He urged all political parties to avoid divisive discourse and instead focus on constructive politics, especially given the ongoing economic challenges facing the nation. He stressed that the opposition should concentrate on offering substantial critiques through parliamentary channels rather than perpetuating unfounded narratives like the "blue regime," which he dismissed as incomprehensible.

When questioned about the possibility of demanding the People's Party leader to identify the alleged creators of the "blue regime," Mr. Pharadon reiterated his stance. He maintained that the true agents behind any political party are the people themselves, who elect representatives to fulfill their electoral promises.
