Bangkok: Farewell to "Big Pom", another two key figures, Uttama Savanayana and Sontirat Sontijirawong, have resigned from the Palang Pracharath Party. Reporters reported on the movement from the Palang Pracharath Party, stating that Mr. Uttama Savanayana, former Minister of Finance, and Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, former Minister of Commerce and Energy, have decided to resign from the party. It is expected that the main reason is the uncertain political situation and concerns about the party's future work direction. Both Mr. Uttama and Sontirat have already gone to say goodbye to Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, MP for the party list and leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, and Gen. Prawit has wished both of them good luck.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Uttama and Mr. Sontirat were the leaders and secretaries of the Palang Pracharath Party, the first pair to lead the party to the election in 2019 and became ministers of economic affairs in the government of General Prayut Chan-o-cha. Mr. Uttama's last position in the Palang Pracharath Party was deputy leader and chairman of the policy committee, while Mr. Sontirat was deputy leader and head of the party's policy and academic center.
