Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Tuesday ordered government agencies and state enterprises to implement work-from-home measures and suspend foreign travel to mitigate the impact of the Middle East conflict.
According to Thai News Agency, the directive, effective immediately, aims to slash public energy consumption and ensure efficient resource management as global volatility rises. Under the new guidelines, state employees in roles that do not impact public service delivery must work remotely, while all overseas study tours and training programs are frozen in favor of domestic alternatives.
"The Prime Minister has instructed all agencies to prioritize service continuity while maintaining maximum efficiency," a government statement said, adding that authorities are closely monitoring global energy markets to adjust measures as needed.
