Bangkok: The Deputy Minister of Agriculture has summoned the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries to address the ongoing issues surrounding the Thailand FishAI application. The Deputy Minister has stated that, as of now, no investigation committee has been formed, as he needs to review the details thoroughly before proceeding.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Watcharaphol Khaokham, who serves as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has called upon Ms. Thitiporn Hlaoprasert, the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, to clarify the inaccuracies reported in the Thailand FishAI application. Additionally, there are concerns about the potentially inflated costs associated with its procurement. Mr. Watcharaphol emphasized his initial need to examine related documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project's background, as he was previously unaware of the specific issues involved.
When questioned about the potential formation of an investigative committee, Mr. Watcharaphol expressed his intention to first review all pertinent details before making any decisions. He is focused on determining whether the budget allocated for the application's procurement was justified in terms of its effectiveness.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives has acknowledged receiving various suggestions and recommendations from the public concerning the matter. This feedback prompted him to summon the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries for further clarification. Mr. Watcharaphol assured that additional information would be shared once a thorough review of the details has been completed.
