Shinawatra Family Makes Final Visit to Thaksin Before Release

Bangkok: The Shinawatra family, including Oak, Aim, and Ing, paid their final visit to Thaksin Shinawatra at Klong Prem Central Prison. On Thursday, May 7, 2026, six members of the Shinawatra family, led by Mr. Panthongtae Shinawatra (Oak) and his wife, Ms. Natthiya Puangkhum (Tik), Ms. Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong (Aim) and her husband, Mr. Nattapong Kunakornwong, and Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra (Ing), former Prime Minister and advisor to the Pheu Thai Party, along with her husband, Mr. Pitak Sukhsawat (Por), visited former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra for the 61st time.

According to Thai News Agency, Thaksin has been imprisoned for nearly eight months, with his parole due in just four days. He is scheduled to be released from prison on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 7:45 AM.

Reporters indicate that this visit marks a significant development, as it is the last family visitation day before Thaksin's release. Once released, Thaksin will begin a four-month probationary period, with full release scheduled for September 9, 2026.
