Prime Minister Anutin Engages with Thai Community in France, Makes Papaya Salad

Paris: On his visit to the Republic of France, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul connected with the Thai community in Paris, demonstrating culinary skills by preparing papaya salad for them to enjoy. According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister presided over a Buddhist prayer and alms-giving ceremony in honor of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni at the International Buddhist Temple in Paris. The event, organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with the local Thai community, was attended by key figures such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Minister of Culture Sabida Thaiseth, and Ambassador Nikorndej Plangkoon. Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by Thai residents and business owners from France and neighboring countries. The atmosphere was lively with requests for photographs and the singing of the Thai national anthem. During the event, the Prime Minister engaged with the community, sampling traditional Thai dishes and showcasing his culinary skills by making Som Tum, much to the delight and amusement of those present. The Prime Minister expressed his joy in meeting the Thai community abroad, remarking that it made him feel at home. He emphasized his commitment to maintaining Thailand's territorial integrity, reassuring the community that border crossings would remain closed. This statement was met with applause and cheers from the attendees, who voiced their approval of the Prime Minister's stance. Addressing concerns about border security, the Prime Minister confirmed that although fences had been constructed in strategically important areas along the Thai-Cambodian border, they were merely symbolic. The Prime Minister clarified that Thailand's issues were with governmental systems, not with individuals, leaving resolution to the respective govern ments.
