Government Announces Application Process for ‘Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40’ Program for Merchants

Bangkok: The government has released the application process details for the "Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40" program for merchants, which commences tomorrow. Merchants can submit their applications via the Thung Ngern (Money Bag) app and Krung Thai Bank. Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the initiative, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, aims to provide clear guidelines to facilitate quick and transparent participation for businesses.

According to Thai News Agency, the application window for shops, small businesses, and public transport service providers is open from May 25th to July 31st, 2026. Applications can be submitted at booths organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Krung Thai Bank or at any Krung Thai Bank branch nationwide. The process is categorized into three groups for different types of merchants.

Merchants who previously participated in the "Half-Price Plus" project can confirm their eligibility for the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" project through the "Thung Ngern" application. Businesses and entrepreneurs new to the scheme must register with Krung Thai Bank, possess a personal Krung Thai Bank account, apply as a 'Tung Ngern' merchant via the website, and ensure the 'Tung Ngern' application is updated before submitting the necessary application documents. Public transportation operators can activate the "Thung Ngern" application directly with Krung Thai Bank.

New merchants must verify their business type, download the application form, and have the relevant agency certify the documents before submitting them at any Krung Thai Bank service point. Upon approval, merchants will receive an SMS notification, and a 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus' banner will appear on the Thung Ngern app. Merchants must accept the project terms and start accepting public payments from June 1st to September 30th, 2026, between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM.

Eligibility criteria for participating businesses include restaurants, beverage shops, general merchandise stores, government-subsidized shops, community enterprises, village funds, community shops, public transportation operators, and small legal entities with annual revenue not exceeding 1.8 million baht. Businesses must be verifiable, not be franchise convenience stores or resellers, and must not have had eligibility suspended or been required to repay funds from previous government programs.

The program covers goods and services such as food, beverages, general merchandise, and public transportation services, excluding items like lottery tickets, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, gift certificates, cash cards, and prepaid services. The government will transfer its co-payment portion to merchant accounts via the "Thung Ngern" app within the designated timeframe, with retry attempts every Friday until October 30, 2026, for unsuccessful transfers.
