Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul is setting up an investigation team to probe Narucha Khosasilai, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, over leaked chat messages that have raised concerns about potential political favoritism. The messages, which included the phrase "Help the blue," have prompted Anutin to clarify his stance, stating he has not assisted any individual and only oversees the Ministry of Interior.
According to Thai News Agency, the controversy stems from a Line chat conversation between Narucha and Mr. Rungruang Thimabut, the Deputy Governor of Phuket. Rungruang claimed he faced an unfair transfer due to his non-cooperation with certain political agendas. The conversation also referenced "Help Namngern," a nickname for a political figure, during the recent election campaign. Anutin commented on the situation, asserting that he is reviewing the details of Narucha's statement and, upon finding any wrongdoing, will initiate a thorough investigation to uncover the facts.
Addressing concerns about whether the issue could lead to internal conflict within the Ministry of Interior, Anutin, who also serves as Prime Minister, assured that it would not. He emphasized that his focus remains solely on the Ministry of Interior and urged others to do the same.
