Woman Loses Patience After Neighbor’s Nightly Disruptions

Sai mai: A woman in Sai Mai has been driven to seek assistance due to persistent disturbances from her elderly neighbor, who has been banging on the wall throughout the night, throwing fish sauce at her, and making offensive gestures. The police attempted to mediate, but the neighbor remained uncooperative.

According to Thai News Agency, the 24-year-old victim reached out to Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, founder of the "Sai Mai Must Survive" Facebook page, for help. The issues began on May 2nd, when she and her family moved into a rented townhouse in Sai Mai. Initially dismissing the noise, she soon realized it was a nightly occurrence, with loud banging from 9 PM until past midnight, sometimes as early as 5 AM, disturbing her family's rest. Attempts to address the noise directly were met with temporary relief and further hostility, including incidents of fish sauce being hurled into her home and offensive gestures.

Mr. Ekkapop is coordinating with Sai Mai Police Station to further investigate, as previous police interventions have failed due to the neighbor's refusal to engage. He suggests that willingness to communicate could lead to a resolution, but continued non-cooperation might necessitate legal proceedings.

When police visited to mediate, the neighbor remained elusive, prompting them to inspect the properties. They noted an echo in the victim's third-floor bedroom, indicating possible noise disturbances. Additionally, the neighbor's car was found encroaching on the victim's property, despite a no-parking sign.

The neighbor, known as Auntie Da, has a long history of disputes with the community. Over the years, she has been involved in various incidents, including court disputes, complaints about pigeons, and vandalizing neighboring properties. Another local resident recounted similar experiences of harassment and property encroachment, illustrating a pattern of troublesome behavior.

Sai Mai Police Station advises affected parties to file formal complaints, as the situation may qualify as a public nuisance. Despite multiple warnings, the neighbor continues to avoid discussions, leaving legal action as a potential next step.
