According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Mallika's engagement with the public was lively and friendly. At 9:30 AM, she arrived at Thanommit Market in Bang Khen District, a significant economic hub for local residents. During her visit, she interacted closely with vendors and shoppers, receiving an overwhelming response as people took photos with her, offered flowers, and expressed their support.
Dr. Mallika's discussions with small business owners and community leaders focused on economic concerns, cost of living, and development suggestions. A vendor expressed happiness at her presence, describing her as approachable and understanding of the challenges faced by those trying to make a living.
Later, at 11:00 AM, Dr. Mallika continued her outreach at the Or Tor Kor Market in Chatuchak. Here, she addressed the community's economic concerns and was met with a lively atmosphere. Dr. Mallika emphasized community-level economic recovery, highlighting the "SME Loan Matching" policy aimed at supporting small business owners facing liquidity issues.
She outlined her three main pillars for economic stimulus: SME Loan Matching, which involves partnering with financial institutions to provide low-interest loans; reducing expenses and increasing income by zoning community markets and offering low-cost trading spaces; and boosting purchasing power through technology by connecting traditional market products to online platforms.
At the conclusion of her field visit, Dr. Mallika stressed the importance of a proactive approach by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to ensure sustainable economic circulation at the grassroots level. She also mentioned the development of an e-commerce hub application to support over 100,000 brands, a large-scale project akin to platforms like Shopee, Lazada, or TikTok Shop.
