Bangkok: People flocked to offer water to cleanse the royal remains before the statue of "Princess Bajrakitiya". This morning, citizens gathered to pay their respects and offer water to the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha at Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace to express their condolences and profound gratitude for her immeasurable kindness.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Household announced that all citizens are welcome to participate in the bathing ceremony of the body of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida, at Sahathai Samakhom Hall in the Grand Palace, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Inside the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, a table was set up with an image of the Princess, adorned with flowers and a royal cloth, connected to a ceremonial bowl containing water used for bathing the deceased.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife, along with the Cabinet, commanders of the armed forces, the Royal Thai Police, and other dignitaries, continuously paid their respects. Organizations such as the Friends in Need (of Thailand) Foundation, the Thai Red Cross Society, Suan Kularb Palace School, and private sector executives also participated in honoring the deceased's memory.
For the general public, the Royal Household prepared waiting tents and drinking water stations, with staff and volunteers to facilitate the process of paying respects in an orderly manner. The atmosphere remained peaceful, as people with tears in their eyes remembered the Princess's consistent royal duties and compassion for the nation and its people. Her legacy will be remembered by the Thai people forever.
