Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deepest condolences after being informed by the Israeli government representative that the last Thai hostage had died and prepared to send the body back to Thailand as soon as possible.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regrets to announce that today the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv was informed by the Israeli Government representative that Mr. Nattapong Pinta, the last Thai hostage, has died. Mr. Nattapong is one of three Thai hostages still in Gaza, with the other two confirmed dead in 2024, but the Israeli side has not yet found their bodies.
Last night, Israel conducted a special operation to recover Nattapong's body based on intelligence information found. The body was then taken for DNA testing at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv, and the results confirmed that it was Nattapong's body.
The Royal Thai Embassy has already called Nattapong's family to inform them and will work with the Israeli side to return the body to Thailand as soon as possible, in accordance with the family's wishes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to express its deepest condolences once again to the family of Mr. Nattapong on this occasion.
