According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Irrigation Department, via the Trang Irrigation Project, has clarified the facts surrounding information dissemination about the Ban Wang Taera flood control reservoir project. This project is located within the Trang Agricultural and Technological College grounds in Na Tham Nuea Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province, with a budget of 85 million baht. Questions regarding the transparency of the project's implementation have been addressed. The "Ban Wang Taera Flood Control Reservoir Project" focuses on enhancing water management efficiency, supporting water storage for consumption, agriculture, and mitigating flooding in Trang Province. The project has received 85 million baht for the fiscal year 2026, divided into two main components.
The first component involves constructing a water delivery system and associated structures, undertaken by the Trang Irrigation Project with a budget of 38.452 million baht. This includes constructing road culverts, drainage structures, water intake structures, drainage systems, and reinforced concrete irrigation canals, totaling 925 meters.
The second component involves dredging and transporting sediment from 14 reservoirs, managed by the Mechanical Engineering Division 8, Mechanical Engineering Bureau, Royal Irrigation Department, with a budget of 46 million baht. Concerns about soil procurement for construction have been clarified, indicating that all materials and equipment procurement follows government procurement regulations. The disbursed funds cover not only soil but also other construction materials like sand, stone, rebar, and reinforced concrete pipes. Approximately 50,000 cubic meters of soil have been purchased at 7.95 million baht, used on-site and stored in various locations for project support.
Since November 2025, the Trang Irrigation Project has offered temporary labor opportunities to local residents. The workforce size varies with workload and site conditions, particularly during the rainy season. Workers' wages are recorded and paid based on actual days worked, transferred to their bank accounts, ensuring transparency and accountability according to government regulations.
The Royal Irrigation Department assures that all phases of the Ban Wang Taera flood control project adhere strictly to regulations, laws, and government guidelines. The department is committed to collaborating with relevant agencies for information verification and is willing to disclose all facts to build public confidence.
