Minister of Public Health Assures Adequate Medical Supplies Amid Middle East Conflict

Bangkok: The Minister of Public Health confirms that there is sufficient stock of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East will not affect the availability of these essential resources. There is no immediate need to stockpile fuel for emergency vehicles, as hospitals have been instructed to prepare for any potential disruptions.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, addressed concerns regarding the potential impact of the conflict in the Middle East on Thailand's medical sector. He emphasized that all hospitals have been directed to check their drug stocks and sources of supply. He confirmed that Thailand's drug stocks are sufficient for several months, as the country sources its medications from the United States and China, rather than the Middle East. Mr. Promphat acknowledged the possibility of delays and increased transportation costs, which could result in price hikes, but reassured that the Ministry of Public Health is actively coordinating with the private sector and hospitals to manage drugs and medical supplies effectively.

In terms of fuel availability for hospital emergency vehicles, Mr. Phatthana reiterated that the situation is stable, and hospitals have been instructed to prepare for evacuations and ensure uninterrupted patient care. When questioned about the necessity of requesting additional fuel for emergency vehicles, Mr. Phatthana confirmed that no such measures are currently required.
