Every time I come to the province, I will meet with new-generation entrepreneurs to listen to their problems and suggestions because they are potential entrepreneurs, they know the problems in the area, and keep up with the changing world. The current world of trade is changing very fast. If we don’t keep up with the new world order, we won’t be able to sell our products. We have to prepare in advance. Most importantly, we have to j
oin hands as a network and help all sectors. The government and the Ministry of Commerce, along with agencies in the province, are ready to support the private sector to be strong, generate income for the country, and help create jobs for the people.
‘Today, the government promotes soft power, which is the identity of Thai people, in communities that need to be refined to be modern, and supports small people because in today’s world, no one can survive alone. I would like to see the wisdom of local people and their potential combined with international standards, changing the way products are structured and modernized in the country. Entrepreneurs in Kanchanaburi Province place great importance on developing tourist attractions. Kanchanaburi has many good things, both natural and historical tourist attractions and filming locations. We need to find the province’s strengths and promote them, and bring in relevant people to participate in driving the province’s good things, making local to global, so that the
province’s economy grows. All government agencies are ready to support,’ said Mr. Phumtham.
However, the local entrepreneurs who came to talk this time wanted Kanchanaburi to have more tourist attractions in the province in order to generate income in the area. Currently, more than 75% of tourists in Kanchanaburi are Thai tourists. They want more foreign tourists to come and the province’s popular tourist attractions will focus on nature and history. They want to add places with extreme sports activities, music festivals to attract more tourism, as well as product distribution channels and more sales areas for farmers and entrepreneurs in the area. Mr. Phumtham accepted the offer and will help coordinate with government agencies and provide advice on helping develop the local economy.
