Bangkok: "Jetsada" leads the Rak Chart Party team in campaigning at Sirichai Market, emphasizing the slogan "Catch the police before they become criminals." Jesd led the Rak Chart Party team to campaign at Sirichai Market in Bang Bon district, promoting the policy of "catch the police before they become criminals," addressing issues of bribery, extortion, and illegal moneylending. He pointed out that these are structural problems that residents have complained about in many areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the Rak Chart Party team campaigned and surveyed the needs of the people at Sirichai Fresh Market, Khlong Bang Bon Subdistrict, Bang Bon District, Bangkok. The team was led by Assoc. Prof. Jetsada Tonawanik, the party's prime ministerial candidate, along with Mr. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, the party leader and prime ministerial candidate, Mr. Pin Chaengchawai, the Bangkok Constituency 28 candidate (number 9), and the party's young list candidates: Mr. Chanin Pinthong (number 3), Mr. Chaiporn Jirawinichanan (number 4), Mr. Nattakorn Taweeraks (number 5), and Mr. Rattapoom Wallikul (number 9). The party emphasized that this campaign visit highlighted their commitment to transparent politics and the protection of national sovereignty.
Associate Professor Jetsada stated during a field visit that one of the key policies of the Rak Chart Party is "cracking down on corrupt police officers before they become criminals." He emphasized that the party understands that there are many good police officers, but it is necessary to seriously address the issue of corruption and illicit influence within the police force. One of the party's priorities is combating bribery, a problem that the police have consistently denied. The party has received consistent feedback from the public across all areas indicating its continued existence. During this field visit, they uncovered complaints about extortion schemes linked to multiple parties, including police officers and influential figures. In some cases, the bribes were in the form of high-value concert tickets or event vouchers.
Furthermore, Associate Professor Jetsada also mentioned the problem of illegal lending, stating that villagers have reported the involvement of influential figures and police officers. While the police may not be directly involved in lending money, there are individuals whom the villagers refer to as "Bang" (a term used to refer to figures associated with loan sharks). These loans typically involve high interest rates; for example, a 10,000 baht loan requires repayment of 12,000 baht within 40 days, with additional charges accumulating every 40 days, resulting in an annual interest rate of 80%. This is an extremely high and illegal practice, and the Rakchart Party will address this issue.
Associate Professor Jetsada also mentioned key issues in the area, namely flooding and migrant workers. He acknowledged that Thailand employs migrant workers, but expressed concerns about illegal labor, working without paying taxes, and engaging in unlawful trade or residence. Villagers have noted that such incidents are allegedly caused by the police. While the party cannot confirm the facts, they have received feedback from people in various areas.
Associate Professor Jetsada also emphasized that the policy of cracking down on corrupt police officers before they become criminals must be implemented urgently and seriously. The Rak Chart Party candidates campaigning in every constituency will gather feedback from the public to push for these policies as core party initiatives, to be implemented effectively. He affirmed that he will fulfill his duty to bring these problems to the public's attention, regardless of whether the party forms a government, joins a coalition government, or has MPs. He views these as structural problems affecting people's lives and the nation.
