Teen Motorcycle Brawl in Bangkok Ends in Tragic Shootout

Bangkok: A gang of teenagers on motorcycles engaged in a brawl, resulting in a shootout that left one dead and two seriously injured. A brawl and shootout between groups of teenagers on motorcycles erupted near the entrance of Soi Charoen Nakhon 57/1, resulting in one death and two seriously injured.

According to Thai News Agency, aerial footage shows a violent altercation between teenagers riding motorcycles at night, involving a gunshot, near the entrance of Soi Charoen Nakhon 57/1, Charoen Nakhon Road, Bukkhalo Subdistrict, Thonburi District. Residents alerted Samrae Police Station, who dispatched officers to the scene along with forensic doctors from Chulalongkorn Hospital and volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation. At the scene, near the entrance of Soi Charoen Nakhon 57/1, forensic officers examined the body of 15-year-old Pichapop, or "Jim," who had been shot under his right armpit with an unknown type of firearm. He was bleeding profusely from his mouth and nose and died at the scene.

In addition, two other people were injured and rushed to Taksin Hospital by rescue workers: 15-year-old Wutthinan, or "Dome," with a critical head injury and a brain hemorrhage, and 15-year-old Art, who sustained multiple stab wounds to his body and is also in critical condition. At the scene, a gray motorcycle with a Samut Sakhon license plate was found lying on the ground, along with two knives and a helmet. These items were collected as evidence.

Mr. Tong, 56, a pork blood soup vendor across from the scene, testified that he saw a large group of teenagers arrive on motorcycles and gather before a brawl broke out. He then heard two gunshots before the perpetrators fled towards the Bukkhalo intersection. After the situation calmed down, he discovered that there were injured and deceased victims.

Mr. Santipap, 35, the father of the deceased, revealed with sadness that his son was a good boy who never had any problems or fights with anyone. He usually helped earn extra income by selling second-hand clothes at flea markets and through Facebook. He was also studying in the 3rd year of secondary school and planned to continue his studies and work to help alleviate the family's financial burden. He affirmed that he will pursue legal action against the perpetrator to the fullest extent.

Initially, police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The body of the deceased has been sent for a detailed autopsy at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Chulalongkorn Hospital.
