Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, ‘Anutin’ has not yet received a report on the issue of ‘Chan’ possibly having to stop performing his duties as ‘Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization President’, confirming that it is not related to the Ministry of the Interior, waiting to hear from the court.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about the case where the Department of Local Administration (DLA) reported on Mr. Chan Phuangphet, the potential president of the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) of Pathum Thani, who has a lawsuit and may have to stop performing his duties or not, to which Mr. Anutin stated that he did not know anything about it, and what does it have to do with the DLA. Regarding the Council of State saying that it is the DLA’s duty, Mr. Anutin replied that he had not studied it yet because he was in the province today, so he had not received the report yet. When he returned, he would have to ask. This matter is in accordance with
the law because the law already exists.
When asked if the NLA had reported on the regulations, Mr. Anutin said that he had not received a report yet because the cabinet meeting was in Korat. If he was to stop performing his duties, it would depend on the law and interpretation. It was a matter of the local government and the election by the people. As for whether or not he could perform his duties, it had to be an order from the relevant agencies, especially the legal agencies. The Ministry of the Interior was not involved.
When asked again whether he could not say at this time whether Mr. Cha was able to perform his duties or not, Mr. Anutin said that he could not say at this time because he did not know yet. He had to ask first. It was not the duty of the Ministry of Interior to order anyone to perform or stop performing their duties.
As for the part where the Council of State said that the SSO has the authority to order, Mr. Anutin said that he would call Mr. Pakorn Nilpraphun, the Secretary of the Coun
cil of State, first. The reporter then said that Mr. Chan may be ordered to stop performing his duties automatically. If Mr. Chan does not agree, the SSO will order. Mr. Anutin continued that the SSO probably will not order, but must listen to the Council of State. These matters must have a court order. If there is a disagreement, it will be in accordance with the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct.
Mr. Anutin concluded by saying, ‘That’s good. Don’t let it get involved with the Interior Ministry. It’s already a headache.’
