Mr. Pakorn Nilpraphun, Secretary-General of the Council of State, mentioned the pending case of Mr. Chan Puangphet, the winner of the election for the president of the Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization or the president of the Pathum Thani PAO, which the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct accepted the case of corruption in the procurement of relief bags for flood relief in 2011 and ordered to stop performing his duties, saying that if Mr. Chan assumes the duties of the PAO president at any time, he must stop performing his duties at that time. However, if Mr. Chan wants to contest the order, he must take action against the Department of Local Administration Promotion or DLA, which has the authority and duty to oversee the entry into
political positions of local administrators, and the Department of Local Administration Promotion will have the authority to issue an order to proceed.
Mr. Pakorn also explained the reason for terminating all duties, saying that the NACC had already found fault and the court had ordered the termination of duties. During that time, if they were to leave their positions and were re-elected, they would still have to terminate their duties to prevent them from interfering in past cases and prevent any damage that might occur. In Mr. Chan’s case, he would automatically meet these conditions.
