After the electric car distributor BYD announced a promotion for the BYD DOLPHIN electric car model, the latest discount was 140,000-160,000 baht, later a consumer reflected the distress from the incident, stating that he was affected mentally because he bought a car from the brand during the 40,090 baht discount period. He admitted that he rushed to buy on April 30, 67, the last day of the campaign, because he was persuaded by the salesperson. If he did not rush to buy, the price might go back to selling at the full price. Not long after, the price did not go back up to the original price as claimed. But now there is a campaign with another 100,000 baht discount, along with special privileges such as various free gifts. The above incident has had a severe impact on mentally.

Recently, Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office and Chairwoman of the Consumer Protection Board, has ordered the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) to inspect the advertisements for discounted prices of the electric vehicles in order to comply with the consumer protection measures in advertising under the Consumer Protection Act.
