Senate candidates storm EC, show evidence of ballot numbers matching ballot slips

Senator candidates storm EC to investigate qualifications of 200 prospective senators, prepare to sue 157 if the announcement of approval on July 3, show evidence of ballot papers with ballot numbers matching the ballot slips

The group of senator candidates led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrop Panyakaew, a senator candidate in Group 2, submitted evidence to the EC related to blocking the voting for the senator election. Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrop said that today he submitted a letter to the EC requesting an investigation into the 111 senators and to file an objection to the announcement of the results of the senator candidates, including the reserve list, because irregularities in the voting were discovered, especially the cross-voting, which was done in sets with the same number on each ballot. Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrop gave an example of photographic evidence of the voting during the cross-voting period in Group D. It was found that the 19th group of candidates voted for Group 2, which had 4-5 ballots with the same number
on each ballot. When compared to the ballot papers he had collected, the numbers he voted matched the numbers on the ballot papers.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob added that this evidence clearly shows that groups were formed to vote. On the day of the cross-election, groups of candidates who behaved in this way would form groups of 10 people each and would choose people in the group. There were also senator candidates who did not vote for themselves but instead voted for the target candidates.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob said that he submitted evidence to request the EC to use its power to open the ballot boxes to recount the votes using an electronic system to detect irregularities in group voting, which is unusual. Currently, the evidence is the ballot papers that the EC has kept in 40 boxes. If checked using this method, it will take no more than 4 hours, which will allow us to know who voted for whom. If the EC does not act as requested in today’s letter submission, it will submit a letter to the agency with administra
tive authority and force the EC to act according to the demands. If the EC still insists on announcing the results of the Senate, it will file a complaint with the Supreme Court and will file a complaint under Section 157 for neglect of duty.

When asked if the EC previously announced that the cheat sheet might be the candidate’s homework, if there is no evidence of mutual benefit, can they be charged? Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob said that providing benefits does not necessarily have to be just about money. In this case, he sees it as a promise to give a position, which is considered mutual benefit. He wants the EC to be brave in recounting the votes, and to let the public and the media know about it.

Mr. Chirat Chaemsawang, a candidate for the senator in the Education Group 3, said that he submitted the request to the EC this time to request an investigation into the voting because it is clear that the voting was a series of numbers, with 10 numbers on the ballot papers being the same. Therefore, he would like the
EC to investigate the voting path of these groups of people. He believes that it is related to the political party group. He would like the EC to investigate whether it was really wrong or not. If it was really wrong, it would be considered a violation of the election rules. As for the examination of qualifications, he did not want to investigate only each person because according to the procedure, the EC must have examined the qualifications of everyone beforehand. If they were allowed to apply at the district or national level but found problems at the national level, while the EC has not yet clearly investigated this matter, he would like them to postpone the announcement of the confirmation and go back to examine the qualifications of those elected as senators, including the reserve list again because he saw strange qualifications from many candidates who have the nickname ‘Striped Shirt, Short Profile’. This group is considered a suspicious group. On the day of the national election, this group wore the
same outfit, which is a Minion outfit. Therefore, he would like the EC to investigate the qualifications of these people specifically.

In this regard, a group of 9 senator candidates gave information to the media that before the national round of voting, a group of 19 candidates called them and if asked, they were asked to be voters to vote for them according to the specified number. They also showed their phone numbers to the media. -319.-Thai News Agency
